Water Color Demo
I love this video. I think when people just start out with watercolors they tend to overwork them. This video shows, in time lapse photography, a loose watercolor being created from start to finish. I would use it with high school students to inspire them and show them that quick and loose is better when working with watercolors.
Keith Haring Video
We recently did artist studies in the elementary school that I am student teaching at and so many students choose Keith Haring to focus on. Because of that I developed a lesson where students would learn a little more about Haring, then create their own posters in his style. The point of the assignment is for students to be able to get a message across with their art work. This video would be helpful to teach them about Haring.
Eric Carle Interview
I recently taught a lesson on Eric Carle to third graders and wished we had a smart board in the room. Mr. Carle's website had great videos of him working on his illustrations. You tube did not have the same videos as his website but did have this interview with Mr. Carle speaking about collaborating with the author of Brown Bear, Brown Bear.
I would use this video to introduce Eric Carle and his work to elementary students as well as to help them understand that being an illustrator is one type of job that an artist could have. This video would help them understand how an artist and illustrator work together.
